To educate young girls and light the path to safety
In the rural parts of the country, commuting to school is the first step to achieving one’s goals and dreams. However, young girls are often burdened with the lack of safety and transportation. We believe that safety, and education, are the fundamental human right. We are able to address the issues, and provide for the girls of Utakarmait Middle School Giridih Jharkhand, with the special focus of our recently started initiative.
Project Impact: Larger than the Size of a Palm We provided over 150 students and volunteers with a torches that have a siren. The students and volunteers can use the torch for light and protection when traveling in the dark. The devices are light-weight and easy to carry, and when an individual is threatened, the torch can be used to provide the light and the sound of a strong alarm to scare away the attacker. Total beneficiaries: 150+ students and volunteers.
Geographic Scope: Utakarmait Middle School- Safety Importance for Educational Purposes A girls education can be negatively impacted just by her feeling unsafe on her way to school. Mobility worries are among the top “invisible” hindrances to rural women’s schooling.
